31 Proverbs 2

I've enjoyed reading through the Proverbs. A habit I was in and will take it up again. 31 Proverbs, 31 days in a long month. The book starts by stating that if anyone seeks wisdom, ask and God will give it freely. I'm asking God for wisdom. Not the world's "wisdom" - God's Wisdom.

"Who but God goes up to heaven and comes back down? Who holds the wind in his fists? Who wraps up the oceans in his cloak? Who has created the whole wide world? What is his name—and his son’s name? Tell me if you know! Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection. Do not add to his words, or he may rebuke you and expose you as a liar.”

- Proverbs 30:4-6

True Joy

True joy? True happiness? Dad and Mom were right when they told me, "Don't hang out with hooligans and don't listen to the crazy things they say. Seek out God, say your prayers, read the Bible every morning and every evening." In fact, I can't say it any better than Psalm, Chapter One.

Psalm 1 "Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly. For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction."
